Stringybarks to now

The hills and gullies of this region were heavily wooded, mainly with Stringybark trees.  Many of the first settlers came to this district armed with licences for cutting timber.  Some of these timber cutters and sawyers later purchased land, settled and formed the basis of the Forest Range and Lenswood families.

On 16 October 2016 the history group held a display of timber industries.  Documents from the display are attached below:
